SUMMARY:EcoHome Lab: UCL research on neighbourhood-scale batteries
DESCRIPTION:Carbon Coop has been working with researchers at University College London on a project to explore shared neighbourhood-scale batteries. Carbon Coop members took part in workshops using a shared battery game to help them think about whether and how shared batteries might be made to work effectively for them. In this Ecohomelab in-person meetup\, Georgia Panagiotidou and Mike Fell from UCL will talk about what the work involved\, share early findings\, and listen to your feedback. \n————————————– \nNow in our regular monthly slot – every second Thursday of the month. A hangout for people taking control of their home energy usage and generation. We use open-source hardware and software to gain a better understanding of energy in our homes and explore how to make the best use of the energy we generate and reduce energy wasted. \nCatch up on [some of our previous sessions and presentations](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiz1gBPXWVAJ4hzg3zj72hVrXVJgWvzOG). \nThis is a [Carbon Co-op](https://carbon.coop/) initiative to enable peer learning amongst our membership and our wider community. \n**Regular topics include:** \n• Home energy monitoring. \n• House energy performance assessment \n• Sensors – electricity\, gas\, temperature\, humidity\, air quality… \n• User interfaces\, dashboards \n• Smart houses and automation \n• Aggregation of data sources \n• Taking the power back! – Making better use of the surplus power we generate
