SUMMARY:Thermography Training - 24th January 2019
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a FREE* thermography training with Diane Hubbard.\n*a £10 refundable deposit is required to book.  \nThis January\, Diane Hubbard will be performing airtightness and thermography tests on Carbon Co-op member Julian’s home. She has offered it as an opportunity to provide free training to Carbon Co-op members. As a part of the event\, Julian will give a tour of his recently retrofitted home. \nThis practical\, hands-on session will give you the opportunity to learn the basics of using a thermal imaging camera and also see an airtightness test in combination with thermal imaging.\nThe session will give the benefits that thermal imaging cameras offer\, but also common pitfalls and allow you to examine a home under airtightness test conditions. Basic thermal imaging inside and outside buildings will be covered\, together with an introduction to the interpretation of thermal images\n\nSpaces are limited so book soon to avoid disappointment.\nJulian’s home address will be emailed to you when you book.  \nRefreshments will be available. \n\n\nDiane Hubbard\, Green Footsteps\nA mechanical engineer\, Diane’s interest in building physics arose a number of years ago with the realisation that our existing buildings are crucial to reducing our environmental impact. After the completion of her MSc at the Centre of Alternative Technology and academic publications\, she continues to increase our understanding of this field through a combination of research and project work with clients.\nWorking as Green Footsteps (greenfootsteps.co.uk)\, Diane undertakes airtightness testing\, infrared thermography and energy calculations for new buildings and those about to undergo retrofits. She is a Passivhaus Consultant\, Passivhaus Tradesperson and a Level 2 Building Thermographer.
