Play “Draught Hunters” Bingo!

Tackling unwanted draughts is a great way to help keep a nice even temperature around your home.

Draughts are caused by unwanted air coming in and out of your house through gaps and whilst you might end up colder in winter you could equally overheat in summer.

They cause around 15% of heat loss at home, costing money and generally making people uncomfortable and miserable!

You can start by searching for gaps in the ‘thermal envelope’. This is the boundary between warm internal home spaces and outside unheated spaces.

Imagine if you were to wrap your home in a blanket, what parts of the home would the blanket be touching/wrapped up against? In this image, the blanket is the same as the ‘thermal envelope’.

To play draught bingo search your home for as many draughts as you can in 15 mins.

Look for visible gaps where you can see the outside. Feel for air movement with your hand or cheek. If you do the activity on a windy day you may be able to hear the air moving.

Cross them out on this bingo card when you find a gap.
