REScoop VPP

REScoopVPP seeks to develop a cooperative approach to Virtual Power Plants through open standards, open source software and collaborative licensing of smart energy management tools with high standards for data protection while maintaining independency from commercial interests.

The main aim of REScoopVPP is to set-up a community-driven virtual power plant that can actually provide flexibility services to the grid and contributes to a 100% share of renewable energy sources into the grid.

Beginning in summer 2020 and consisting of 12 partners and 5 pilot sites across Europe, the project aims at strengthening co-ops as innovative Citizen Energy Communities.

Flexibility tools will be designed to promote environmental, economic and social community benefits, while open source software and collaborative licensing will make them accessible to a wide ecosystem of cooperative actors. We are testing automated domestic demand sides response (DSR) in our pilot service, PowerShaper Flex.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
