Carbon Coop have been appointed by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) to undertake research into the Community Energy sector in Greater Manchester. This will enable GMCA to explore options to support and partner with Community Energy (CE) organisations, in order to grow the Sector and enable it to capitalise on the opportunity that the Local Power Plan might present.
We are really pleased to be working on this commission, alongside our project partner Regen.
The aim of the project is to explore what opportunities exist for Greater Manchester’s public sector to support the CE Sector in the region. This will be achieved through research, stakeholder engagement, expert analysis and appraisal of options. We are implementing a participative approach to our stakeholder engagement by talking directly with them about where they see potentials as well as enablers and blockers.
