Carbon Co-op is are offering £100 vouchers to two households in Greater Manchester in return for taking part in an energy performance study run by Salford University.
The catch? These householders are required to act as controls for our Community Green Deal project and you would therefore not anticipate doing any significant energy efficient improvements to your house in the next 18 months.
As part of our Community Green Deal programme we are working with Salford University to carry out in depth studies of household retrofit. To distinguish between savings created as a result of retrofit works and savings that would have happened anyway (eg because of weather conditions) we need control houses on which no works are carried out. Hence we're only looking for people who AREN'T planning to carry out significant works in the next year or so*.
As a control house you will recieve £100 in vouchers plus a very detailed breakdown in your energy performance over the next 18 months. Studies include pressure tests and heat camera visits, some energy efficiency calculations on selected building elements and the installation of some meter readers and environmental sensors.
To apply contact: info@carbon.coop with your name and address before 7th March 2013.
*Yes, we know it's daft, most people are interested in Carbon Co-op because they want to do this kind of stuff but maybe you have friends or neighbours who might be interested?
